No - our business is focused on development, manufacturing, sales and support, we do not have a rental side of the business. Although we usually have campers on display for viewing - please contact us for details.
No - we typically do not sell used campers. We occasionally sell our demo or marketing campers.
Yes - about 40% of our sales go to couples that don't use the side pods for bedding. We originally designed the camper for family use, but have found that it is equally suitable for couples. We did originally consider a slightly different couples version, but research showed that most couples would chose the 4 berth product instead due to the openness of the interior. That openness and feeling of space is lost if the side pods are removed. The side pods are also great for extra storage space when setup and come with no real disadvantages.
Yes, absolutely - the Kerfton camper was designed to operate in offroad conditions whether that be severe 4WD use or remote outback travels. Our warranty does not exclude offroad use.
Yes - Kerfton campers are towable by many EVs, depending on the vehicle's rated towing capacity. We are developing a version of our camper specifically aimed at smaller cars and EVs.
Yes - Kerfton campers are deliberately lightweight and compact allowing them to be towed by many vehicles. You should check your vehicle's towing capacity against the specifications found in the downloadable specifications or specification summary on the main product page.
Yes the side beds (pods) on a Kerfton camper can be used by adults. The side pods are rated to 100kg.
Yes - some Kerfton camper models include a shower outlet (hot and cold). We do not include an ensuite and instead recommend the use of a portable ensuite tent. The benefit of a separate ensuite tent is it can be used for a toilet and setup some distance from the camper when space is available while free camping. A chemical toilet can be stored within the front storage compartment.
Kerfton campers include a table that can be used either inside or outside the camper. The interior includes seating and foldable bench seats are included for external use. These all store conveniently inside the camper in dedicated locations ready for use.
Yes - Kerfton campers include on board batteries, powering the fridge, lighting, heating and various power outlets.
Yes - depending on the model, Kerfton campers are wired for solar charging, as well as charging from a mains socket or 12v vehicle supply while travelling. We do not include solar panels and instead recommend the use of portable solar blankets. These allow the camper to be setup in the shade while the solar blanket is some distance away in direct sun.
Yes - however Kerfton camper appliances and outlets are all battery powered. These batteries can be charged by either a mains supply (if camped at a powered site), or charged from solar (if free camping).
Yes - Kerfton campers are available with either AGM or Lithium batteries. See the specification for capacities.
Yes - Kerfton campers use premium Australian made canvas selected for durability, weather resistance, and long service life. Australian made canvas is widely regarded as world leading, primarily due to its design for the country's unique and harsh environmental conditions and is far superior to imported canvas.
Yes - our manufacturing facility is in Oakleigh, Melbourne, Australia.
The Kerfton camper's canvas pattern has been designed by industry experts and is far more tailored than many competitive products in the market. It fits like a business suit, not sweatpants! This minimises noise produced in gusty conditions for a more comfortable night's sleep.
Yes - an option for roof bars is available on Kerfton campers that allows the carrying of items like surfboards and canoes, bike racks can also be attached.
Yes - an optional awning can be setup to protect the rear kitchen and fridge area. Every Kerfton camper also comes with a kitchen cover to keep it clean overnight when the awning is not used. Similar fridge covers are available from the fridge manufacturers. The awning and options can be seen on the main product page.
Yes - the rear awning for a Kerfton camper is available with optional left and/or right side walls. The sidewalls can be used either vertically downwards for maximum protection or set outwards at an angle to provide shade while allowing a breeze to flow through. There is no rear wall on the awning, however ample internal space exists within the living area for meals or other activities.
